Bridging the Gap Between Experience-Based Knowledge and the Scientific Knowledge

The context for this study was to document fishers’ experience-based knowledge is reliable and can be included in citizen science as supplementary information scientific research. Fishers’ contributes important understanding of the environment marine ecosystem. Hence, over time not always regarded knowledge. There a lack on how fishers have acquired when they had formal education what way used empirical data. In study, survey conducted by educator within fishing community Mausund Norway. limited specifically targeting fishers' migration pattern edible crab (Cancer pagurus) Sulfjorden, Frohavet. This performs in-depth interviews with five at Mausund. these first foremost learnt through intergenerational learning from fathers, grandfathers, uncles sons. supports existing research knowledge, which professional very precise.
